Wonderful Story : Last Kiss
It’s been a long time since the last time i wrote about short story that inspiring and motivating. Today i will share to you another good story that i have for you. Parents love to their children is unconditionally. Since we still a child until grown up, our parents always love us unconditionally. As we grown up, we begin to keep up appearance and want to appear as cool teenager. Sometimes we feel embarrassed when our parent hug or kiss us, because we feel that we are not kid anymore. Some teenager even yell to their parent when they find something annoying from their parents. If you usually do that, i suggest you to think for a while. Is it appropriate? Read this story below, and stop do anything that can make your parents sad.
Board of Directors meeting has just ended. Bob stand up and accidentally knocked the table, so the coffee spilled on his notes.
“Oh nooo, i am so embarrassing, already old but still mess up ..”
Everyone laugh, and then a minute later, we all started telling the most painful moments in the past. And after a while, it is now Frank turn who tell his story.
“Come on Frank, it’s your turn. Please tell us, what’s most uncomfortable moment you ever experienced.”
Frank laughed, he began to tell the story of his childhood.”I grew up in San Pedro. My father was a fisherman, and he was in love with the sea. Even it’s not easy to make a living at sea, he had his own boat. He was working so hard and will remain at sea until he caught enough fish to feed the family. Not just enough for our own families, but also for his father, mother and other relatives who also at home.”
Frank looked at us and say, “Ahhh, if you had met my father. He was big and strong to draw nets and fighting the seas in search of fish. If you was close to him, he’s smell like the sea. He likes to wear his old bad canvas weather coat and a cloth that covering his chest. His rain hat was often pulled down to cover his brow. No matter how many time my mother washed it, it still smell like fish.”
Frank sound began a little condescending.
“If the weather is bad, he would take me to school. He had an old truck that he used for fishery. Truck was even older than my father’s age. It goes roaring and ringing all the way. You can hear its sound even when it was a few blocks away. When my father brought the truck to school, i was shrinking in my seat, hoping to disappear. Almost all the time, my father hit the brake suddenly and then the truck will give off a puff of smoke. He always stop at front of school, and it seems that every people would stand around and watch. Then my father would leaned forward, and gave me a big kiss on the cheek and praised me as a good boy. I felt a little embarrassed, so uncomfortable. known, I was twelve years old child, and my father leaned forward and kissed me good-bye!”
He paused and then continued, “I remember the day when i think that i was too old for a goodbye kiss. When we arrive at school and stopped, as usually my father was smiling broadly. He began to leans towards me, but I raised my hand and said, ‘No, father.’ It was the first time i said that to him, and my father’s face seems to be so amazed. I said, ‘Dad, I’m too old for goodbye kiss. Actually getting too old for all kinds of kisses.’
My father looked at me for a long time, and his eyes began to get wet. I’ve never seen him cry before. He turned his head, his eyes gazing through the windshield. ‘You’re right,’ he said. ‘You’ve become a big boy …… a man. I will not kiss you again.’
Frank face turned into strange face, and tears began to fill his eyes, as he continued his story. “Not long after that, my father went to sea and never come back again. One day, when most fishing boats docked at the harbor, my father boat was not there. My dad have a big family to feed. His boat was found with nets that half floating and the other half is still in the water. It’s certain that my father hit by the storm and he tried to save the nets and all the float.”
I watched Frank and saw tears streaming down his cheeks. Frank continue his story, “Guys, you can not imagine what i will sacrifice just to get a kiss on the cheek again …. to feel his rough old face …… to smell his sea smell….. to feel the embrace his neck and arms. Ahh, if i had be a grown man at that time. If I was a grown man, I certainly would never tell my father that I was too old for goodbye kiss.”
Hope we never become to old to show our love to people we love.
