Travel in China (Tianjin) : 大悲裡院 Dabei Li Yuan (Dabei Buddhist Temple – Monastary of Deep Compassion) & 望海楼教堂 Wanghai Lou Jiaotang (Seafront Tower Church)
Today is another good day to hang out. So i decide to travel again arround Tianjin. I go out from my dormitory arround 1 o clock after lunch. Today i cooked a new menu, it’s “Nasi Goreng Terasi” (It’s a fried rice cooked with Indonesian vegetarian shrimp seasoning). It’s quite delicious. Hahahaha… Enough talking about food, let’s go back to my today traveling. Today, i visit three diferent places. First i go to the well-known Buddhist Temple in Tianjin 大悲裡院 (Dabei Temple) that very close to 天津之眼幕天伦 （Tianjin Eye). From front of my campus, i take bus 846路 to 大营门. Then i change bus 641路 and down at 金钢桥. From that bus stop i walk arround 5 minutes to go to Dabei Temple. I finally arrived after spent about 1 hours from my dormitory to this place.

This place is Buddhist temple for worshiping the merciful Goddess of Mercy (Guan Yin). There are also several monks walking arround in the temple. The Dabie Buddhist Monastery is made up of two parts: the old monastery and the new monastery. The old monastery refers to the three great halls in the western yard. The construction of the old monastery started in the beginning of the Qing Dynasty. The eastern yard features the new monasteries and a statue of Sakyamuni offered in the Daxiong Palace, created during the Ming Dynasty. The monastery was once famous for holding a skull relic of Tang Xuanzang (one of China’s most famous monks).
After i finished walk arround this temple about 20 minutes, i go shopping for a while in shopping mall front of Dabei Temple
From this temple i continue my travel along Haihe River to 望海楼教堂 Wanghai Lou Jiaotang (Seafront Tower Church). Along my way there, i see 引滦纪念碑 (Yinluan Monument) next to the river. For me this is a very quite good scenery, so i take a picture here.

The church also called Catholic Meeting Hall or Victory Mary Church, established by French Catholics in June 1869. It is a large brick-and-wood architecture of 10 meters high, 30 meters long and 10 meters wide. There are three corridors inside, and they follow Basilica style with a higher central corridor and lower side corridors. The tower is flat-roofed. Later small penthouses were built at four corners of the chapel. The church is a good example of the Gothic architecture. For some reasons, the church was completely destroyed later. It was rebuilt in 1897 at the same place and burnt down later. The existing building was rebuilt in 1903 and renovated after the earthquake in 1976. However, the appearance of the church did not changed much even after several reconstructions
From here i take bus 954路 from 望海楼 to 海光寺. I go shopping at Carrefour before i go home by MRT.
