All this time, I frequently heard some words like this. “A was succeed because he had talent,” “B since born was genius, not surprise knowing that he become successful people now,” and etc… etc.. In our daily life, I guess you were too often hear things like that. Many people assume that success, intelligence, expertise is something that is pure acquired from birth. Many of them make excuses so they do not have to try. In fact, although talent is one factor that has influence on the success of someone, but it is not the only factor. If you ever watch the movie “Forest Gump” starring Tom Hanks, you certainly know what I mean. A fool could be succeed as long there is a will. And here are some stories of great people of their era that will open our eyes. That success is not derived from talent alone, but a strong will and unyielding attitude.

1. Albert Enstein

Who doesn’t know Albert Einstein? He is theoiritical physicist, philosopher and author who is widely regarded as one of the most influential and best known scientists and intellectuals of all time. He is famous scientist of the famous 20th century with the theory of relativity. He was also one Nobel laureate. Who would have thought he was a son of a late talking and also suffer from autism. As a child she also likes negligent with lessons. Although Einstein had early speech difficulties, he was a top student in elementary school. As he grew, Einstein built models and mechanical devices for fun and began to show a talent for mathematics

2. Thomas Alva Edison

One day, a boy aged 4 years old, somewhat deaf and dumb in school, went home to his house carrying a piece of paper from his teacher. Her mother read the paper,
“Tommy, your child, is very stupid. We ask you can get her out of school.”
His mother was shocked to read these letters, but he soon made a firm determination, “My son Tommy, not a stupid kid. I own that would educate and teach him.“
Little Tommy was Thomas Alva Edison we know today, one of the greatest inventors in the world. He only went to school about three months, and he is physically a little deaf.
Can anyone imagine the boy who was deaf dumb and be asked out of school, ultimately could become a genius? The answer is his mother! Yes, Nancy Edison, do not give up so easily with the opinion of the school for their children.

3. Aristotle Onassis

At school, he was stupid and like to seek some trouble by following the way of many rich people. Not suprised if he was expelled from several schools. He is most often ranked the lowest rank in his class.

One teacher said:
“My classmates adore him, but a teachers and their families in despair. While he was young, people can easily see that he will become one among those who would destroy himself at all or a brilliant success. Although his grade was far from good in school, his talent for business and make money has appeared since he was a chiled. Eventually he became one of top millionaire in the world.

4. Chris Gardner

Have you ever watched movie or read book Pursuit of Happyness?

That book and the movie tell the true story of Christopher Paul Gardner’s life. His story is one of my favorite story i ever read. Bitter and sweetness of life seems to have passed through by him. Homeless, abandoned wives, was arrested the police, have trouble paying loans, all of them are some of experiences he had in his life. He’s not highly educated but he continues to try and fight. Now he became a millionaire success, motivator, entrepreneur and philanthropist. He is CEO of of his own stockbrokerage firm, Gardner Rich & Co., a stock brokerage firm based in Chicago, Illinois.

5. Ludwig Van Beethoven

If you know a woman who is pregnant, who already has eight children, three of them were deaf, two blind, one mentally impaired and she by herself suffering syphilis, do you will advise her to abort the pregnancy?

If you answered yes, then you’ve just killed one of the world greatest composer ever born. Because one of a child who was born by the mother is Ludwig Van Beethoven. When Beethoven was at the end of two decades, the signs of deafness began to appear, but eventually he became famous composers with works of nine symphonies, 32 piano sonatas, five piano concertos, 10 sonatas for piano and violin, a series of stunning string quartet, vocal music , music theater, and more.

6. Louis Braille

Louis Braille was damaged in one eye when he was 3 years old. At that time he accidentally stabbed his own eye with a hole-maker from his father’s work tools.

Then the other eye are affected by sympathetic ophthalmia, a type of infection that occurs because of damage of the other eye. Blindness does not make him desperate, and then he created the Braille alphabet to help blind people, so they can read. Now who does not know Braille Alphabet?

7. Abraham Lincoln

Lincoln’s story is a classic example of people who really dare to fail.
Failed in business in 1831.

Since a long ago, humans have a brain to think something extraordinary. This is called creativity. This creativity thing applied to many field in our life, including how to make money. Because make money is a must to-do thing that can’t be avoided by all people, then people really have to push their creativity to the limit in finding new ways how to make money. This is the reason why there are so many ways to make money nowdays. But according to Robert T Kiyosaki, there are three ways to make money to achieve financial freedom.

One of the most widely used by people is building a business. Business itslef now have a lot of varietion. Starting from just opening a store, shop, salon or something like that to a multi-national business, franchise until the royalties. But as the development of technology, types of businesses become even more variations.

In my opinion, the current business is divided into two streams, they are :

1. Offline Business

Building a business in the real world. Until around the 1990s, this is the only way that a conventional way people are doing to build his business empire. There are countless ways to build offline business. There are so many kinds of work done, some of which are:
- Building a company / business (shop, beauty shop, store)
- Franchise (ex: McDonald’s, KFC, Starbucks, Circle K, Indomart, Alfamart, etc)
- Royalty, where we only have to work at first then we will be earning along with other people working. Examples of this type of revenue is the author of the book, the designers, the owners of the product / work / brand. (Ex: JK. Rowling, Anthony Robbins, Armani, Marvel, Disney, etc)
- Etc …

2. Online Business
This trend began to emerge since the dot com boom, beginning with the start rapid advancement of computer technology devices in the era of 1990. Since the Internet began to bloom, many people begin take advantage of this trend as a business opportunity. Slightly different from real-world business, business on the internet most people do not need a place of business / office in order to run. Some business on the internet does not even require the employee. So by simply relying on a laptop and an internet connection, you are able to build this internet business. Compared to offline business, there are more variations of the type of business that can run on online business, including: Business Affiliate, Pay Per Click, Blogging, etc.

Since I am now involved in online business, I will not discuss the offline business. Online business start booming in the 1990s, marked by the emergence of giant businesses like AOL, Yahoo, Google, Youtube, Amazon, Ebay, Facebook, Twitter are capable of generating billions of dollars of income. Inspired from that, a lot of individuals begin build their business on the internet and finally became internet marketers who are able to achieve reliable earnings hundreds of thousands or even millions of dollars a month. Great names such as Ewen Chia, Dan Kennedy, Dylan Low, John Chow, Stephen Pierce, Yanik Silver, Fabian Lim, George Brown is one of them.
The question now is, how we also can be successful like them? So far, I know there are a lot of my friends and colleagues who had tried to run internet marketing, but so far there are only about 5% people that actually succeed. And most of them who did not succeed blame that internet marketing was not really able to make money. Why could this happen?
The conclusion i found, the main reason why so many Internet marketers failed is only one, which is it’s too difficult to learn Lazy and No Action !!!
Actually, in principle the internet business (online business) is exactly same with real world business (offline business). There are several step of online business have a little differences if compared with offline business. But from what I have found so far, a lot of people underestimate internet marketing itself. They tend to think that internet marketing is easy and quick way to make money. That’s a really really BIG MISTAKE, if you thought like that.
Building a business process in the Internet much like building a business in the real world. If you do not focus, do not have a passion, do not have a will from to achieve your dream no matter happen, you’ll end with a fail. The process of building business in the Internet is similar with the real one. The step by step of building a business is like this diagram below:

To easly understand this, let’s pick an example from real business. Let’s assume that we have a plan to build a business in the real world offiline.

Pick an Idea
So the first step is pick an idea. In what field we want to start business? Let’s pick one idea as example. Assume that we want to open a Fruit Supermarket on our town.

Analysis the Idea
The second step is analysis the idea. If we want to open fruit supermarket in our town, then we must check how much people deserved to buy fruit on our town everyday. The next thing, we must check is there any competitor in our town. If they are exist, what advantage we want to create on our business. We must also check how much cost to build our business starting from place, employee, furniture and all other thing to open our fruit supermarket.

Action / Implementation
The next thing to do is the most important thing. We must do some action from what we planned before. We start to rent a building, hire some employe, arrange the interior inside the supermarket, buy the fruit, etc…. etc… etc…. After all completed, then we can open our supermarket.

Promotion
After our supermarket opened, we must do advertisement to make people know about our supermarket. There are several techniques of promotion starting from give brochure, billboard, radio ad, tv ad, and maybe mouth to mouth. From this we can start get traffic of consumer shopping in our supermarket

Services
If there are already a lot of consumer who usually shop on our supermarket, then we must give services to maintain our consumer loyalty. This will make our business survive and grow from time to time

Duplication
If your first supermarket already succeed, then you can duplicate them by build a branch supermarket on the same town or mabye on another city.

The six step above is the step by step guide to build offline business in real life. So how the guide to build internet business then? The answer is the guide is exactly the same. On internet business, we must follow the step 1-6 exactly same like above. The difference between offline business and online business is the way of each step. I will figure out how the way of each step on my next post…

Nowdays, there are many conflicts around sibling in a family. So many people even fight each other more seriously when they grown up. What i most found in real life is the conflicts between sibling (brother / sister) who fight each other to obtain heritage when their parents is gone. This is the prove that people’s morality decrease significantly. Sometimes we have to think for a while. Is it worth it if we have to fight each other for money or something else. There are a good story show how the true brother/sister relationship should be. One of them are the Children of Heaven which you can found on my recommended movie post. But today, I will share another good story to read. This is about love between brother and sister. Hope this story will make us to ponder about our relationship with our sibling or another family member. Happy reading…..

I was born in a secluded village of a mountain.Days by days my parents plowed the yellow dry soilwith their backs facing the sky.

I have a younger brother, 3 years younger than me.Once, to buy a handkerchief which all girls around meseemed to have, I stole 50 cents from my father’s drawer. Father known about it right away. He made my younger brother and me kneeled against the wall, with a bamboo stick in his hand. “Who stole the money?” he asked.

I was stunned, too afraid to talk. Father didn’t hear any of us admit, so he said, “Fine, if nobody wants toadmit, you two should be beaten!” He lifted up the bamboo stick. Suddenly, my younger brother gripped father’s hand and said,” Dad, I was the one who did it!”

The long stick smacked on my brother’s backrepeatedly. Father was so angry that he kept on whipped my brother until he lost his breath. After that, he sat down on our stone bed and scolded my brother, “You have learnt to steal from your own house now, what other embarrassing things you will do in the future?? You should be beaten to death! You shameless thief!”

That night, mother and I hugged my brother. His body full of injuries, but he didn’t shed a single tear.
In the middle of the night, all of sudden I cried outloudly. My brother covered my mouth with his little hand and said, ” Sis, now don’t cry anymore. Everything has happened.” I still hate myself for didn’t have enough courage to admit what I had done.

Years gone by, but the incident still looked like it just happen! ed yesterday. I will never forget my brother’s expression when he protected me. That year, my brother was 8 years old; I was 11 years old.

When my brother was in his last year of his lower secondary school, he was accepted in an upper secondary school in the central. At the same time, Iwas accepted into a province’s university.
That night, father squatted in the yard, smoking, packet by packet. I could hear him said, “Both our children have good results? very good results?” Mother wiped off her tears and sighed,” What is the use? How can we possibly finance both of them?”

At that time, my brother walked out, he stood in front of father and said,”Dad, I don’t want to continue mystudy anymore, I have read enough books.” Father swung his hand and slapped brother on his face.
“Why do you have a spirit so damn weak? Even if itmeans I have to beg for money on the streets, I willsend you two to school until you both finish yourstudy!”

And then, he started to knock on every house in thevillage to borrow money. I stuck out my hand as soft as I can to my brother’s swollen face, and said, “A boy has to continue his study; If not, he will not be able to leave this depths of poverty.”

Me, on the other hand, had decided not to further mystudy to university. Who knows on the next day, before dawn, my brother left the house with a few pieces of worn-out clothes and a few dry beans. He sneaked to the side of my bed and left a note on my pillow; “Sis, get into an university is not easy. I will go find a job and send money to you.” I held the note while sitting on my bed, and cried until I lost my voice. That year, my brother was 17 years old; I was 20 years old.

With the money father borrowed from the whole village, and money my brother earned from carryingcement on his back at cons! truction site, finally, Imanaged to get to the third year of my study in theuniversity.

One day, I was studying in my room, when my roommate came in and told me,”There’s a villager wait for you outside!” Why is there a villager looking for me? I walked out, and saw my brother from afar, His whole body is dirty, covered by dust, cement and sands. I asked him, “Why don’t you tell my roommate that you are my brother?” He replied with a smile,” Look at my appearance. What will they think if they know that I am your brother? Don’t they laugh at you?” I felt so touched, and tears filled my eyes. I swept away dusts from my brother’s body. And said with a lump in my throat, ” I don’t care of what people say! You are my brother no matter what your appearance is?”

From his pocket, he took out a butterfly hair clip. Hewore it on me, and said, “I saw all the girls in townare wearing it. So, I think you should also have one.”
I could not hold back myself anymore. I pulled mybrother into my arms and cried and cried.
That year, my brother was 20 years old; I was 23 years old.

The first time I brought my boyfriend home, the broken window had been repaired. And it looked so clean inside the house.

After, my boyfriend went home, I danced like a smallgirl in front of my mother, “Mom, you don’t have tospend so many time cleaning the house!” But she saidwith a smile,” It was your brother who went home early to clean the house. Didn’t you see the wound on his hand? He was injured while replacing the window.”I went into my brother’s small bedroom. Looking at histhin face, I felt like there are hundreds of needlepricked in my heart.
I put some ointment on his wound and bandaged it,”Does it hurt? ” I asked him.
“No, it doesn’t hurt. You know, when I was working inthe construction site, stones falling on my feet allthe time. Even that could not stop me from workingand?” In the middle of the sentence, he stopped. I turned my back on him and tears rolling down my face.
That year, my brother was 23 years old; I was 26 years old.

After I got married, I lived in the city. Lots of time my husband invited my parents to come and live withus, but they didn’t want. They said, once they left the village, they didn’t know what to do. My brother also didn’t agree, he said, “Sis, you just taking care of your parents-in-law. I will take care of mom and dad here.”

My husband became the director of his factory. Wewanted my brother to get the job as the manager in the department of maintenance. But my brother rejected the offer. He insisted on starting to work as a reparation worker. One day, my brother was on the top of a ladder repairing a cable, when he got electrocuted, and was sent to the hospital.

My husband and I visited him. Looked at the whitegypsum on his leg, I grumbled,”Why did you reject tobe a manager? Manager will not do something dangerous like this. Look at you now, such a serious injury. Why you didn’t want to listen to us?” With a serious expression on his face, he defended on his decision, “Think of brother-in-law?he just became the director, and I almost uneducated. If I became the manager, what kind of rumors will fly around?”

My husband’s eyes filled up with tears, and then Isaid, “But you lack in education also because of me!”"Why talking about the past?” My brother held my hand.

That year, he was 26 years old and I was 29 years old.My brother was 30 years old when he married a farmergirl from the village. In his wedding reception, the master of ceremonies asked him, “Who is the one you respect and love the most?”

Without thinking, he answered,” My sister.” Hecontinued by telling a story I could not evenremember.

“When I was in primary school, the school was indifferent village.Everyday, my sister and I walked for2 hours to go school and go home. One day, I lost oneof my pair of gloves. My sister gave me one of hers. She only wore one glove and walked for so far. When we got home, her hand was so trembled because of the weather that was so cold that she could not evenhold her chopsticks. From that day on, I swore that aslong as I live, I would take care of my sister and begood to her.”

Applause filled up the room. All guests turned theirattentions to me.

Words were so hard to come out from my mouth, “In my whole life, the one I would like to thank the most ismy brother,”
And in this happy occasion,in front of the crowd, tears rolling down my face again.

Love and care for the one you love every single daysof your life. You may think what you did is just asmall deed, but to that someone, it may mean a lot.

Have you ever heard Zappos? If you follow the news, i thought you must already know this company. Zappos is a online shoe retailer that was acquired by Amazon on June 2009 (last year). Amazon has acquired Zappos for $850 million. Why Amazon want to buy Zappos? The answer can be found on Mashable site on this article. One of the factor why Zappos can be successful is the leadership of the management team of Zappo which is lead by it’s CEO, Tony Hsieh. In 1999, Tony Hsieh sold LinkExchange, the company he co-founded to Microsoft for $265 million. He then joined Zappos as an adviser and investor, and eventually became CEO. In 2009, Zappos was listed as one of Fortune magazine’s top 25 companies to work for, and was acquired by Amazon later that year in a deal valued at over $1.2 billion on the day of closing.

Last week, Tony Hsieh publish a book “Delivering Happiness: A Path to Profits, Passion, and Purpose”. In this book, Hsieh offers his thoughts and his visionary about different business lessons he learned in life, from a lemonade stand and pizza business through LinkExchange, Zappos, and more. In this book, Hsieh share about of his journey of life, his transformation from Harvard student dot-com entrepreneur to the man behind a formidable brand. After sell his Internet company LinkExchange to Microsoft, Hsieh have the problem with his dwindling investments fund. During this time he immersed himself in the game of poker. By playing some poker game, he learn some lessons which is impact his decision making several years later. As the funding for his incubator companies and Zappos.com seems dried up, Hsieh then cutting expenses and presciently build his revolutionary company’s brand by making customer happy is the most important thing.

The story becomes suspenseful as Hsieh tell his stress when take care of operating in survival mode, liquidating his assets to fund the company seeking out an 11th-hour loan. Here we see the out-of-the-box thinking of Zappos’ early years when he taking huge personal risks, doing crazy things like a 36 hour non-stop drive to open a warehouse in Kentucky. Once again this story prove that business success seems to come from hard work, passion, dedication, and often some luck.

By the time Zappos is acquired by Amazon for more than $1.2 billion in 2009. In that time he dropped a bombshell on his employees that they are packing up and moving the company from San Francisco to Kentucky, and it’s a credit to the culture he has developed among his employees that almost 80% of the employees chose to make the move. Around this time they developed the Zappos Culture Book, a book written by the employees telling what Zappos Culture means to them, and given out to prospective employees, vendors and sometimes customers. Zappos brand identity is great customer service. Offering free shipping and returns, upgrading orders to overnight shipping, and encouraging customer service reps to stay on the phone as long as it takes to make the customer happy are all standard.

Mr. Hsieh also talks about several models of the Happiness Framework. Mr. Hsieh explain about the link between what makes people happy personally, and what makes for a successful long term business model. Using happiness as a guiding principal can help simplify the seemingly complicated task of creating a great company culture.

I am amazed about the way Mr. Hsieh walking down the path toward this goal, and sharing his knowledge with the rest of the world. The question is how do you get from worm farmer to running a company with over a billion dollars in shoe sales? This “Delivering Happiness: A Path to Profits, Passion, and Purpose” is honest, fun, inspirational book. If you like motivational book or maybe curious about the zippo company or maybe just like to read someone extraordinary biography, i recommended all of you to read this book. I’t’s realy worth to read

Here some testimonial for his book (from Amazon) :

“In DELIVERING HAPPINESS, Tony reveals the secret to his success at such a young age: leadership in culture and happiness.” (Lance Armstrong )

“In this fascinating (and often hilarious) account, Tony explains how he turns his beliefs into actions that really do deliver happiness.” (Gretchen Rubin, author of The Happiness Project )

“This book is awesome. How Tony and Zappos grew to $1 billion in gross revenue in 10 years is just the beginning. From fundraising to finding happiness, from actual e-mails to checklists, it covers it all. Intensely personal and intensely practical.” (Tim Ferriss, #1 New York Times bestselling author of The 4-Hour Workweek )

“Tony is a wise guy. Sincerely. He’s one of the wisest and most thoughtful business leaders of the modern age.” (Chip Conley, Founder and CEO of Joie de Vivre Hospitality and Author, PEAK: How Great Companies Get Their Mojo from Maslow) (added by author)

“This book could start a revolution!” (Marshall Goldsmith, author of MOJO: How to Get It, How to Keep It, How to Get It Back If You Lose It )

“This book illustrates so many of Zappos’ core values: it’s open and honest, passionate and humble, fun and a little weird. Even if you don’t care about business, technology, or shoes, you’ll be drawn in by this American tale of how hard work, laziness, talent and failure blend together to create an extraordinary life.” (Jonathon Haidt, author of THE HAPPINESS HYPOTHESIS: Finding Modern Truth in Ancient Wisdom )

“Tony Hsieh is the shining star of a new way of working. DELIVERING HAPPINESS is a book that tells an extraordinary business story — building a $1 billion online business selling shoes in less than a decade — but also an extraordinary human story. Tony is one of those entrepreneurs who is both fearless and endlessly imaginative about pursuing his dreams.” (Tony Schwartz, Author of THE WAY WE’RE WORKING ISN’T WORKING )

“DELIVERING HAPPINESS is a glimpse into the mind of one of the most remarkable business leaders of our time. Like its author, the book is authentic, oddly original, doesn’t take itself too seriously–yet delivers a potent message. This book needs to be read by anyone who takes the happiness of other people seriously. ” (Dave Logan, professor at the Marshall School of Business/USC’ and coauthor of TRIBAL LEADERSHIP AND THE THREE LAWS OF PERFORMANCE )

“An uplifting tale of entrepereneurial success, personal growth, and redemption.” (Publishers Weekly )

This is one of my favorite story about Wisdom. This story happened on Tang Dynasty in China, when Confucius live. Confucius was a thinker and social philosopher, whose teachings and philosophy have deeply influenced Asian people thought and way of life. In this story, we can learn that wisdom doesn’t mean that we have to be correct all the time. As we can see together, almost all trouble in this world happen when everyone argue each other which one is right and which one is wrong. Sometimes, we forget what the most important is… Let’s learn from this story what called wisdom.

Yan Hui was Confucius’s favorite disciple who love learning, he also have a good personality.

One day when Yan Hui was on duty, he saw a fabric store was surrounded by many people. He approached and found a buyer and seller of fabric is being debated.

Buyer shouted: “3 X 8 = 23, why did you say 24?”

Yan Hui fabric buyers approached and said: “My friend, 3 X 8 = 24, no longer debatable.”

Fabric buyers are not happy and pointed nose and Yan Hui said: “Who asked your opinion? If want to ask for an opinion we have to ask to Confucius. True or false entitled as Confucius said. ”

Yan Hui: “Well, if Confucius says you’re wrong, how?”

Fabric buyers: “If Confucius says I’m wrong, i will cut my head. If you are wrong, how? ”

Yan Hui: “If I’m wrong, my position for you.”

Both agreed to a bet, then went looking for Confucius.

After Confucius know about the problem , Confucius laughing and said to Yan Hui, “3 × 8 = 23. Yan Hui, you lose. Give your position to him. ”

Yan Hui forever will not argue with the teacher.

When Yan Hui heard Confucius say he is wrong, then he lowered his hat to give to buyers of cloth. The man took his hat and went satisfied.

Although Yan Hui received a rating Confucius but his heart did not agree. He felt that Confucius was old and senile, so he no longer wished to learn from him. Yan Hui asked for leave of absence by reason of family problem.

Confucius knew Yan Hui’s heart and gave him leave. Before Yan Hui departure, Confucius asked him goodbye and quickly returned after the business was complete, and Hui Yan gave two advice: “When the heavy rains, do not take shelter under a tree. And do not kill. ”

Yan Hui said, “Okay,” and went home.

On the way suddenly strong winds accompanied by lightning occurs, seems to have come down with heavy rain. Yan Hui want to take shelter under a tree and then suddenly remember the advice of Confucius and his heart thought to obey what his teacher said once again. He left the tree. Not long ago he went, lightning strikes and trees were destroyed.

Yan Hui was surprised, the first teacher’s advice has been proven. Then he remember the second advice.

Am I going to kill people?

Yan Hui arrived at his house when it was getting late and did not want to disturb his wife’s sleep. He uses his sword to open the room. Arriving in front of the bed, he felt and found there is someone on the left side of the bed and there is someone else on the right side. He was very angry, and willing drew his sword. At the time of going to slash his sword, he remembered advice of Confucius, do not kill.

He then lit the candles and looked to the bed and discovered that someone beside his wife was the sister of his wife.

The next day, back to Confucius, Yan Hui, knelt and said: “Teacher, how do teachers know what will happen?”

Confucius said: “Yesterday was very hot days, is expected to rain lightning, so the teacher remind you to not take shelter under a tree. You went yesterday with anger and carrying a sword, so i warn you not to kill “.

Yan Hui said: “Teacher, your estimation is great, students are very impressed.”

Confucius replied:

“I know you go on leave not because of family matters. You do not want to learn more from me. Just try to think. Yesterday the teacher told me 3 × 8 = 23 is correct, you lose and lose your position. But if the teacher said 3 × 8 = 24 is correct, the fabric buyer lose and that it means going to sacrifice one’s life. Do you think your position is more important or losing one’s life more important? ”

Yan Hui aware of the mistake and said: “Teachers are more concerned with the major, students actually think teachers are old and senile. Pupils really embarrassed. ”

Since then, wherever Yan Hui, Confucius went always followed

Do you ever heard your friends, families, colleagues said the they got bankrupt after play in Stock, Option or Forex Market? I am sure you frequently hear that, maybe dozen of times, maybe hundreds of times. It’s really true. There some theory said that 90% trader loss in this world. I don’t know exactly is this number really true or not. But the fact about the amount of unsuccess trader much greater than successful one is really true.

I found some interesting stories in the largest forum community in my country, kaskus. In thread posted by acangz, there is a discussion about people experiences after knowing forex trading. Most of them ever got bankrupt. I translated some of these stories in English.

Story 1

First, i deposit $100. Eh… only 3 days it’s already become $1.500 then I witdhraw it. I just know that if we witdhraw in MT4 Broker the account doesn’t disappear suddenly. The bad is… after 1 day +, almost 2 days it’s didn’t processed and i didn’t complain because i feel i was only newbie. Know i got large amount of money, i just want to witdhraw it as soon as possible. Too bad, it couldn’t be witdhraw directly. There are a lot of rules i must read. I feel itchy and keep doing some trade while waiting my witdhrawal process to be done. Too bad, i got margin call and i can’t do anything on it

(INSTAFOREX @kaskus.us)

Story 2

my personal experiences in trading was like this…

just understand, i only newbie. so i place careless order month 1 until 4, i consistent to wake up in the morning and i place buy and sell in corellation pair. only TP about 10 pips each pair. i place 10% margin. never read news. if i place an order, i just didn’t do anything on it. i watch it 1 day after that. if it minus it liquidated. if profit it witdhrawn 50%.

month 1 :16 days profits and the rest losses.
month 2 :10 days profits and the rest losses.
month 3 :18 days profits and the rest losses.
month 4 :12 days profits and the rest losses.

the event happen in the beginning of month 5

because there was my friend withdraw his account with fantastic amount. i was corious and decide to trade on top speed to make profit. and the result, in several second, i got margin call, because i made mistake placing the lot. I entered 100 lot (unit in mar*ktv) on my MT4 real account. It’s automatically Margin Call. Thats enough for my suffer (careless)

(MENOFA @kaskus.us)

Story 3

My biggest losses in forex about 175 pips aka $ 17.500. hahaha… its because of non farm payroll. The story was like this, bro. Friday night after family event in my place, ok…. because i couldn’t see chart continously at that moment, i place take profit and stop loss. I hope in worried while sometimes looking saxobank in my mobile phone. After the news released, the price rose 30 point from my buy price… wah… i am so reliefed already make profit 20 poin (i place take profit only 20 point)… 10 minutes after i look saxobank in my mobile phone… the price already down 195 point from my price. i was in hurry turn on my computer, watched the graphic. it’s really true like what i fear. take profit and stop loss suddenly disappeared on its own 30 minutes after news released. So 30 point jump was useless… so it’s minus, so bad luckkkkk…. it’s ok. loss or profit its part of business, no need to regret.

(dewangga85 @kaskus.us)

and many other stories….

This is only three example of thousand or maybe million stories of a trader who try to get rich from Forex. I think you will found a lot of story like this among traders. So… you will understand why i make this as the first part of my lesson. This is the most important thing you must know before you enter this world. If you don’t ready about the risk, i recommend you to avoid this world. Because it’s better you do the conventional works than got stressed when doing this type of job. Many of seminar guru only give some bullshit promise. They only said the good part of trading. If trading can make you rich, of course it can happen the opposite way. So the most important what i want to said here is you must follow these rules before enter this trading world. There are only 2 rules

1. Never use money for trading from debt

I met a lot of trader use the money for their trading from debt. This is really really risky. Almost all trader who start learn about trading going bankrupt for the 1st and 2nd year of his learning journey. So it’s really really unrecommended to use money from debt.

2. Use money you can afford to loose

It’s related to the first rule. Better use your own money for trading. I recommned you to use your free money. What do i mean “free money”? It’s money you don’t use. It can be your saving account, your certificate of deposit, your excessive fund from property, etc. So it will be allright if you loose them. It of course feel hurt but it will not make you feel like this is the end of the world, or some thing like that. So you still can continue your life.

If you agree to follow 2 rules above, you may start learning about trading. What i want you to notice is the statement “Stock/Option/Forex Market can make you rich fast”. I think you frequently read/heard this statement. What i want to add in this statement is “It’s also the good way to make you poor fast”. It’s not a jokes. I just want you to clear enough about the risk. This is true. Most Traders expect an instant reward, which is something that is completely unrealistic. Positive results will not just come because a Trader expended energy, the Markets do not really care how much time and effort is put in. There is no ‘Time=Reward ‘ equation in any trading Market.

The last part of tips i can give you is Never Stop Learning. A good trader not born that way. a good Trader is only ever somebody that has been taught well. A good Trader has been willing to expand their thought process, and to willingly move outside of their own comfort zone.

Thanks for acangz for his posting in kaskus.

From today, i tried to post some basic knowledge about investing and trading. This is usefull especially for them who don’t know too much about investing and trading field.

I already attended couple of trading seminar workshop in my country. Average fee of the workshop is about $800 – $2000 here. I’m sure it’s must be more expensive in the other country. And i am totally disagree about this price actually. Why? Because what they teach to us is only the basic. We can get all the material from books or the internet easily. It’s impossible to master this field in just couple of days workshop. Almost all successful investor & trader i know, they have minimum 2 year experiences of trading before generating some consistent income. Most of them ever got severe losses on their first 6 months of trading. This is very common. So i assume it’s ok there’s fee for that workshop, but not that expensive. I think the fair price for these workshop is about $100. And the bad thing i found here is most of the teacher isn’t trading for living. They know about trading but they just make small profit from it. Just based on that, they dare to open some seminar and teach some students. This what i dislike about the trading workshop seminar in Indonesia. I don’t know how about workshop seminar in the other country. So i tried to summarize all of material i’ve learn from these workshop. And these material is the same material if you attended workshop around. It’s just more completed i assume. Ok… today is first part of the lesson. i tried to make this as the main roadmap for you to learn about investing & trading. This is the step by step lesson how you master this field. Here the list :

Step 01 – Know and Understand about the risks of Investing & Trading

Step 02 – Basic Knowledge of Investing & Trading

Step 03 – Difference between Investor and Trader

Step 04 – Physcology of Trading

Step 05 – Market Analysis

Step 06 – Money Management

Step 07 – Trading Style

Step 08 – How to Open Account on Online Brokers

Hopefully, i can make an ebook to cover all this material more detail.

Merry Christmas to all of you. In couple of days, we will leaves 2009 year and enter 2010. On christmas, we usually spend our time with our family to fill it with joy and happiness together. This christmas, i can’t spend my time with my parents because of my busy schedule of activites. So sad…..

Let’s back to my topic. If you don’t what about the topic is, it still about investing & trading. What i want to tell now is about Santa Claus Rally. Santa Claus Rally believed as one of most consistent seasonal pattern in a year. A Santa Claus rally is a rise in stock prices in the month of December, generally seen over the final week of trading prior to the new year. The rally is generally attributed to anticipation of the January effect, an injection of additional funds into the market, and to additional trades which must, for accounting and tax reasons, be completed by the end of the year. The Santa Claus rally is also known as the “December Effect.”

This pattern so consistent before 2000. But after Nasdaq bubble burst happen, seems there is a change on the pattern. Let’s see the last 5 year of Santa Claus Rally

2008

1 Dec – 31 Dec : Bullish

25 Dec – 31 Dec : Bullish

2007

1 Dec – 31 Dec : Flat

25 Dec – 31 Dec : Bullish

2006

1 Dec – 31 Dec : Bullish

25 Dec – 31 Dec : Bullish

2005

1 Dec – 31 Dec : Flat

25 Dec – 31 Dec : Bearish

2004

1 Dec – 31 Dec : Bullish

25 Dec – 31 Dec : Bullish

Based on the pattern above, we can see that so risky if we bet to trade between 25 December until 1 January. The better result we can achieve is to bet on deep correction in November and place a bull spread option position in the beginning of December months

Until today, it’s almost 3 week since i start my Twitter Cash Machine program. I already generate about $500 in 3 weeks. I think it’s not a bad start. After about 3 weeks, i learn about twitter, i found a lot of potential opportunity we can dig on twitter. Based on what described in the site, we know Twitter as a service for friends, family, and co-workers to communicate and stay connected through the exchange of quick, frequent answers to one simple question: What happening?

Twitter concept is very unique. Let’s assume Twitter like when we walk in the city. We can meet a lot of people while walking. And sometimes you can hear people whispering to each other (private conversation), sometimes you can also hear loud people talking about everything. When you first sign into Twitter, you can visit all the trending topics on the sidebar (right side) and you see masses of people there. Visiting trending topics is like you entered the school / restaurant / casino / cafe. You can only watching or talking with people there.

Tweets are the power of Twitter. Tweets are 140-character messages that you are able to let out into the public. It is the other form of SMS we usually use from our mobile phone. Because the length of message is very short (140 characters), people must write the most important word from what he/she want to said. When you let these out into the public, your followers will be shown what you had said on that time and date. Say you wanted to tell your friends you just broke up with your girlfriend, tweet about it and your friends ( whom are your followers ) see your message on their “dashboard.”

You may be thinking, “This is cool and all, but what is this for?” Twitter is a great place to start getting your product out to everyone or letting everyone know about your blog. When you start in Twitter, it is like you open a cafe in the middle of the town. You walk in and you see all different types of people, all the types of people you are able to target and get them interested in your product or service. You have the loud people, and the quiet people, and when you want to let people know about who you are and what you are about, be a loud person, and people will listen. Start up a casual conversation and let them know what you’re about and what your product or service is about. They’ll eventually get into it and you’ll have a client in no time.

In my next posting, i will share about tips and trick of how to use twitter better and how we used twitter to sell our product. I also posting some tools we can use on twitter, like tools to search follower automatically, etc.

Today i will attend 3 days Global Internet Summit (GIS) Workshop Seminar at Kowloon Palace International at Plaza Surabaya. For me, this is the first step to build my online business after i resigned from my workplace. A Lot of speaker who train in this seminar is a success internet marketer like Adam Ginsberg, Ewen Cia, Fabian Lim, Jaz Lai, Shaun Stenning, Terence Tan, Vince Tan and Alok Jain. I feel very enthusiasm to attend this seminar, because i love internet marketing field. My brother also attended this seminar at jakarta 2 years ago. He must paid IDR 4.000.000 (around $400) for the seminar. And for this seminar i will attend today, i only paid IDR 147.000 ($15). What an unbelievable price. I will attend this seminar with my brother. Hope i will get some inspiration to start my online business.
