Many people today do not believe the law of cause and effect. In Buddhism this familiar with the name of Karma, in Christianity known as sowing and reaping. Basically every human actions will cause and effect. Whether it resulted directly or indirectly. Because of distrust of modern humans at this, causing so many people today are not afraid to do something bad. This is what caused the world becomes increasingly chaotic lately. The following story is a true story about the law of cause and effect which could be a good example to illustrate how the so-called sowing and reaping.

One day a young man was walking in the woods, he suddenly heard a cry for help. Apparently he saw a young age as he was struggling with a floating sludge. The more moving even deeper he sank. The first young man had desperately wanted to give his help. With great effort the second young man’s can be saved. The first young man then take the second young man returned to his home.

Unexpectedly, the second young man was a rich kid. His house is very nice, large and exceptional luxury. This young man’s father is very grateful for the help given to their children and want to give money, but the first young man had refused the gift. He said that it is proper fellow human beings to help others who need help. Since this incident they became friends.

The first young man is a poor man while the second young man was the son of a wealthy nobleman. The poor boy, aspires to become a doctor, but he did not have the cost of college. Then there is a generous scholarship that would give him until finally earned his doctor. This person is no other than the second youth’s father was helping earlier.

Do you know the name of the poor young man who eventually became a doctor in this story? His name is Alexander Fleming, who later discovered penicillin drug. The nobles young man join army and in a task to the battlefield he was severely injured causing a very high fever due to infection. At that time there is no cure for such infections. The doctors heard about the discovery of penicillin and Dr.Flemming injected him with penicillin that he found. What happens then? Gradually the fever due to infection subsided and the boy was finally cured!

Did you know who the nobles young man? His name was Winston Churchill, well-known British Prime Minister. In this story we can see the law of sowing and reaping. Flemming sow kindness and then he also reap goodness. His dream come true to become a doctor. Fleming discovered penicillin which ultimately helps the soul Churchill.

During my stay in China, one of the most frustated thing beside the lack of vegetarian food is about blocked internet website here. Some general websites such as Facebook, Twitter, Blogger, Youtube could not be accessed at all here. This of course makes me a little frustrated. Moreover, some websites are one source of my income, examples: Bloggers & Youtube. That’s why on early days here, i use my time to find a way to get through Chinese Government’s firewall (Great Wall). During 4 days of searching, I found that there are several ways to access blocked websites in China.

There are several types of solutions for this problem. You just need to pick one from below.

1. Using Paid Web Based Proxy sites

In networks, a proxy server is a server that acts as an intermediary for requests from clients seeking resources from other servers. One of the best proxy sites i tried is Securitales (http://www.securitales.com)
It requires no installation and works great from China. You can try it using trial mode about 10 minutes. To use this service you must pay some amount of fee :

6 months -> $39
12 months -> $72

2. Using VPN

By using a VPN, you would like to access the internet from another IP (usually from another country). Suppose you use the Internet in China, then you would like to access it from outside China. In this way, then you will not get blocked by certain country’s firewall system (ex : Chinese Great Wall). One pretty good vpn service I found was http://www.vpnatchina.com. Unfortunately, to use this you must pay monthly fee. For you who don’t want to pay at all, there 2 software i recommended. They are Freegate and Hotspot Shield. Both are softwares for Windows (unfortunately there are no Mac version for both software). Currently i using Hotspot Shield to access Facebook, Blogger, etc. Using VPN is a good solution to the surf at the web. You can search them on the internet. Some software also support you to request open port that had been blocked by your internet service provider ( ISP ), and its stable to all your connection to surf at the world.

3. Using Free Proxy Website

This is the common solution for this problem. There are tons of free proxies websites out there, but most of them doesn’t last for long time. I don’t recommend you to use free proxy, because most of these website are run by hackers and governments. They are easily to block and it’s very unstable.

One of reason why i love Mac OS X so much is because there is Adium as my primary messenger software. Adium Messenger support multiple account including MSN, Yahoo Messenger, Google Talk, AOL Messenger, ICQ, QQ, Facebook, Twitter, etc. So what you need to do is just open Adium, and your messenger account are all online. Only Skype account doesn’t supported by Adium. One of advantage of Adium Messenger compared to many messenger software is it is very customizable. You can change your Dock Icons, Contact List Styles, Emoticons. Sound, Message Styles, Status Icon and Menu Bar Icons. One week ago, i tried to built my own emoticon to chat with my girlfriend that using Adium too. So in this post, i tried to share about how to create custom emoticon in Adium Messenger.

I will explain you step by step :

1. Download this file and extract it on your Computer

2. Right Click on the CustomEmoticon.AdiumEmoticonset and click Show Package Contents.

3. You can copy all emoticon image file in this folder. The recommended file format is PNG or GIF. I usually use 50×50 pixel dimesion for the image file.

4. If you already copied all the image files, all you have to do is just edit the Emoticons.plist file in the folder. All you have to do is change the script after

<dict>

example :

<key>m000.gif</key> --> image files name
<dict>
<key>Equivalents</key>
<array>
<string>mwaaaah</string> --> keyboard shortcut
</array>
<key>Name</key>
<string>Waaah!</string> --> name of emoticon

So if you want to change the emoticon, just change the text inside keyword <string> </string> above. If you want to create new one, just copy paste the script below.

5. Save the Emoticons.plist file and run the CustomEmoticon.AdiumEmoticonset. Your Emoticon already installed in your Adium

I used Mac as my primary OS. But i still can’t get away at all from MS Windows. Don’t get me wrong, i really love Mac OS X Leopard. But i still can’t say goodbye to Windows. So i still use Parallel Desktop to run Windows on my Leopard. Why? Because there are some software only supported on Windows and i couldn’t find its replacement on Mac. Besides Metatrader 4 which is used for forex trading (there is no mac version for MT4 platform until today), Windows Live Writer is one of them. I’ve tried Blogging Tools on Mac like Marsedit & Ecto , but i still prefer Windows Live Writer for my blogging writer tools. The good part of this software is it’s free !!!

So what is Windows Live Writer?

WLW makes it so easy for us to write articles, share photos and videos. Just like write an article in Microsoft Office and just click Publish Button to make it visible for internet users arround the world. Tips to fix error when adding account on WLW for WordPress User

Just another note for you who using WordPress Platform. When adding WP account on WLW, you’ll encounter this error.

“An error occured while attempting to connect to your blog: Blog Server Error – Server Error 405 Ocurred XML-RPC services are disabled on this blog. An admin user can enable them at……/wp-admin/options-writing.php. You must correct this error before proceeding.”

I googled about this error and found the answer. Thanks for EE for this post which gave me info I’m going to share below. Here how to fix this error.

1. Log in to your wordpress admin
2. Go to “Settings”
3. Click “Writing”
4. Find the XML-RPC option as shown below.
5. Tick the little box
6. “Save Changes”

Try to add account on WLW again, and there shouldn’t be a problem anymore.
