Search engine is one of the most important innovative thing that ever created in internet world. If i remember 10 years ago, in the beginning of internet era, without search engine we have limitation to know or learn something we don’t know. But now, using Google we can easily know and learn everything. Until now, Google still dominates and become the most visited website in the world. If you have been using internet since the beginning of internet era (1990s), you must be recognize how Google transform from a simple search engine become a search engine that have a lot of feature such as Google Maps, Google Docs, Google Adwords & Adsense, Blog (Blogger), Video (Youtube), etc. But even have a lot of amazing feature, Google always keep their simplicity for their search engine. Several months ago, i ever wrote an article about How to Access Blocked Website (Facebook, Twitter, IMDB, Youtube, etc). When i was staying at China, i had a problem accessing several website such as Facebook, Twitter, IMDB, Youtube, etc. Because i had to use Windows that time, i always used Hotspot Shield and Freegate to access those blocked website. Several days ago, Indonesia government also block a lot of website on the internet, especially porn and mp3 illegal download website. But some time ago, some non-porn and non-illegal website like Metacafe, Youtube, Myspace, Rapidshare, Multiply because of Fitna controversial movie. After almost 4 years using Mozilla Firefox, i finally switch to Google Chrome. Honestly, i ever to switch to Google Chrome a year ago. But i finally back to Firefox again that time, because Google Chrome extensions is not as complete as Mozilla Firefox. Beside the addons (extension), i prefer certain Firefox features, such as Bookmarks systems, browser right click menu, search engine in the right side of the address bar, download mechanism, etc. And that time Google Chrome often can’t open a web page because of DNS error (it still happen until today, even not as frequent as before). But Google fixed a lot of things in their Chrome continuously. Recently, i have struggle with slow performance of Firefox. And sometime my Firefox suddenly freeze or crash when i use it.

When talking about internet browsers applications, we will remember 4 big names, which are Internet Explorer, Safari, Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome. Each internet browser has its advantages and disadvantages. Among four internet browsers, i prefer Firefox and Chrome. Why? Only both of them that was supported by additional add-ons (extensions in Chrome). Because i use Mac OS X, i ever tried to change my default internet browser into Safari. But after 3 weeks of using, i decide back to Firefox. The reason is simple. Safari didn’t have add-ons like Firefox. There are a lot of useful add-ons i usually use while browsing.
Based on my opinions, one of the Mozilla Firefox superiority among other browsers is the completeness of their add-ons. Even when compared to Google Chrome, i think Firefox Add-ons still more complete than Chrome Extension. But Chrome is growing really fast. Couple days ago, Google officially launched their new software, Google Drive. Today i has already tested this Google software. Google Drive is service that make it as home of all your files beside your computer hard drive. Google Drive can store up to 5 Gb (5120 MB). You can upgrade storage if you feel not enough with the existing storage. With Google Drive, you can access your files anywhere as long there is internet connection and Google Account. Google Drive is available for PC, Mac and Android devices. iPhone and Ipad version still in development and be launched soon.
What we can do with this Google Drive?
- Create documents, spreadsheets and presentations online
If you already familiar with Google Docs, Google Drive will replace Google Docs functionality. You can create documents, spreadsheets and presentations files and store them on Google Server. The difference is Google Drive have a very large space of hard drive. So you can create as much as document as you want.

During my stay in China, one of the most frustated thing beside the lack of vegetarian food is about blocked internet website here. Some general websites such as Facebook, Twitter, Blogger, Youtube could not be accessed at all here. This of course makes me a little frustrated. Moreover, some websites are one source of my income, examples: Bloggers & Youtube. Some days recently, I rarely updated my blog. In addition to many family issues, now i’m busy re-studying on web programming techniques.This is kinda weird, because i majored in engineering informatics. There I learned a lot about web design programming. Actually, in college, I had time to explore web design techniques ranging from HTML Coding (include old fashioned way using notepad and new ways using third party programs like Dreamweaver or MS Frontpage), Web Database Programming, ASP, PHP, and other techniques. But maybe because since graduated from college until now, i’ve never worked in occupations that require a lot of web programming, I finally forgot.
