Meanwhile, i chose to take a walk by myself to discover some place that i never go before. In the morning, we had breakfast together at the food stall near hotel. And then we were separated into 2 group. The first group is contain only me and my mother, while the rest is in another group. I and my mother decide to go to Singapore Botanic Garden, while the other group decide to go shopping in Orchard. We separated at Lavender MRT Station and agreed to meet each other for lunch at Takashimaya in Orchard Road.

Because it will be more convenient if i go to Singapore Botanic Garden by MRT, so i took the MRT to orange line (circle line) and got off at Botanic Gardens Station. This is the north side of Singapore Botanical Garden. The south side of this park is at the end of Napier Road (next to Orchard Road).

This park is extremely huge and become the means of greening for Singapore city. The area of this park about 74 hectare. It is the only botanic garden in the world that opens from 5 a.m. to 12 midnight every single day of the year, and does not charge an admission fee (free). For you who love flower (especially orchid), you can also visit  National Orchid Garden inside the park. The weather in this park is much cooler than the weather in other place in Singapore. So even i went to this place at noon, i didn’t feel too hot when walking around this park.

National Orchid Garden

National Orchid Garden is located at the highest hill in Singapore Botanic Garden. This garden contain thousand of plants consisting of 400 species and more than 2,000 hybrids. This park is quite huge. It’s said that the area of this garden is about 3 hectare. Orchard Road

Like what we agreed before, we gathered in Orchard Road at 2 o’clock for lunch. We meet each other at Takashimaya. We went for lunch to food court at Lucky Plaza. But unfortunately, the food stall was closed that day. From here i decide to separate with the rest of my family. I decided to take a walk alone in Orchard, meanwhile the others decided to go to Bugis looking for food to eat.

This is the mall that definitely must visit if you go to Orchard Road. Beside several famous brand shop, there are some unique shops that located in this mall, like candylicious chocolate shop that sell a lot variety of chocolate and Kinokuniya book store, the biggest book store in south east Asia. Don’t forget to visit the food court in Takashimaya. There are a lot of delicious cake and snack there.

I spent 3 hours in Orchard Road and around 6 o’clock i decided to go to Marina Bay Sands. Because i already go to Marina Bay Sands on day 3, this time i walk in The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands that located across the Marina Bay Sands building.

The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands

This building is one of Singapore’s largest luxury shopping malls, with over 800,000 square feet of retail and restaurant space. There are a lot of international luxury brands you can find here. There are also gondolas you can rent if you want to feel the experience to ride on gondola. This is very similar to gondola in The Venetian Macau. You can also find an ice skating arena beside the food court. You can see the beautiful scene of Singapore outside the mall. This place is a perfect spot to enjoy the sunset in Singapore.

During the night, you can also enjoy the wonderful full light and water show show outside the mall. Honestly, i  purposely waited to watch this show in this place.

Wonder Full Light and Water Show

When i visited Singapore 2 years ago, there is no show outside the The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands. Wonder Full Light and Water Show adapted the Song of Sea show in Sentosa Island. But you do not have to pay to watch this show. It’s completely free. This show is an 13 minutes show that use amazing convergence of light, music and sound. There are 2 show every day that are performed in this location. The first show was begin at 8:00 pm and the second show was begin at 9:30 pm. I am very recommend you to visit this place if you go to Singapore. It’s atmosphere is very beautiful and romantic.
